Gehring DanceTheatre was founded by Heather Gehring and Michael DiFilippo
in 1998 as MDHG DanceTheatre. Since that time, Heather has choreographed
over twenty pieces for the company, which has grown from two members to involve
more than seven. GDT has performed at Marlboro College, VT, Ankara, Turkey,
Dance Manhattan, The Viennese Opera Ball at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, HATCH,
and at numerous other locations in New York and New Jersey.
The company incorporates all kinds of movement, starting from a classical background
and moving to new innovative styles. The repertoire ranges from foxtrot to modern
to hip-hop. GDT is constantly revising itself, looking for new ideas in movement.
GDT has a specialized workout routine which focuses on building strength and
balance in the body while moving in correct patterns and using isolated muscles.
