The Mexican Connection

  • Middlesex County College's Performing Arts Center 2600 Woodbridge Ave Edison, NJ 08818 (map)

Through Spanish and Mexican dance, song and music The Alborada Spanish Dance Theater presents a The Mexican Connection, a dazzling production of live dance, song and music from Spain and Mexico. Spain's encounter with indigenous civilizations in Central America during its 16th-century imperial expansion created music and dance representing a merging of Spanish and New World styles. These multicultural mixtures of European music with New World rhythms and melodies are the roots of Latin American traditional music. The shared roots of Mexican and Spanish Gypsy Flamenco and Galician dance and music come alive on stage with passion, power and beauty!

This program is made possible in part by funds from the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Office of Culture & Heritage Commission though a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

The theater at Middlesex County College is made available through the generosity of Johnson & Johnson.

V.I.P Seating $25, General $20, Seniors/Students $17.
