After a creative and successful 2015, Robert Mark Burke welcomes you into his world of dance on Saturday February 27, 2016 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm as he introduces his new company, Robert Mark Dance, into the world. The evening, a fundraiser for the company's spring performances and creation process, will consist of wine, hors d'oervres, desserts, and, most importantly dance.
Looking back, Burke's choreography has been performed at New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Paramount Theater (Boston), the wild project, Rutgers University, Dixon Place, Dance on the Lawn, and the Salvatore Capezio Theater.
As we jump into 2016, we are excited to head to performances as part of the Pushing Progress Showcase, underexposed at Dixon Place, Crossroads Theater and three evenings of outdoor performances at Anita's Way (42nd st. and 6th Ave.) . This year also brings us collaboroations with composer Keith Lalley, The Pride Center of New Jersey, chasama, and CoLab Arts, as well as the launch of an all new educational program which brings young artists into the company process and performances.
This year we are looking to raise money to support these many endeavors. "For What?" you ask:
-to pay our hard working, intelligent and talented dancers for their work onstage and in the studio
-to pay composers and costume designers for helping to complete the picture in their feild of expertise
-to fund travel to and from educational programs and classes that the company is involved in
-to help fuel a new generation of dance makers in New Jersey
With that, we hope we will see you at our 2016 Opener:
