Here are is a layout of the day:

SESSION 1 (9:00am-10:00am): Developing and Assessing Dance
Facilitator: Claudine Rainieri
Location: Dance Studio
Creating assessments to track the growth of your students, as well as planning lessons that provide clear assessment opportunities in the classroom is a challenge alongside a teacher’s many other responsibilities. Do you need new ideas and inspirations for developing lessons and assessing students? Or have you found an effective way to do either? Learn and share assessments and lesson designs that work. Bring your pen and paper to note new ideas, as well as bring your best assessment approach and supportive lesson ideas to share with your fellow dance colleagues.

SESSION 2 (10:00am-11:00am): Dancing Across Curriculum
Presenter: Laura Marchese
Location: Dance Studio
Development of relevant and meaningful connections between dance and other curriculum content areas can enhance learning and inspire and energize both students and teachers.  Expand your lesson library with effective strategies for integrating dance across the curriculum in this hands on movement workshop.

SESSION 3 (11:00am-12:00pm): Dance Performance Ideas and Best Practices
Facilitator: Cristina Marte
Location: Dance Studio
“Dancer Teacher Block” is a common occurrence when planning multiple performances throughout the school year. Come prepared with your performance ideas, performance how-to’s, and best practices to share with our dance education community. Gain some inspiration from other dance educators’ ways and approaches. Discussion will range from rehearsal scheduling, performance concepts, student choreography practices, costuming, music selection, and more.

Networking and Sharing (12:00pm-12:30pm)
Dance New Jersey will sum up our first “DancEdNJ on the Move” with a final networking opportunity, feedback activity, and an update on upcoming events.
