Emerging NJ Choreographer Opportunity
Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School Honors Dance Program is looking for an emerging NJ choreographer to create work as a guest choreographer. SCVTHS Repertory Company is a non-audition company for SCVTHS dancers grades 9-12. Dates to set the work are Thursdays, November 30, December 7, 14, 21 2017 from 2:30-4:30 at SCVTHS 14 Vogt Drive, Bridgewater, NJ. The piece will be performed throughout the school year including performances at the high school, Show Up & Dance and Teen Arts. Fall 2017 Nimbus Choreographic Residency and Curated Performance Opportunity
NimbusPresents: OFFLINE, now entering its third year, is a series of curated performances presenting the work of emerging to mid-career choreographers from the New Jersey/New York area. Designed to address the limited amount of space available for the creation and performance of new dance in Jersey City, OFFLINE provides audiences and artists the opportunity to have intimate and meaningful exchanges.
Guest Curator Joanne Robinson Hill will select 2 resident choreographers and 6 choreographers (for performance only) to present their work at Nimbus' Studio/Theater in Downtown Jersey City on Saturday, October 14 and Sunday, October 15, 2017. Resident choreographers will present their work in both performances, all other works will be presented in one of the two performances. Joanne Robinson Hill will lead a post-show discussion with participating choreographers.
Proposed works should be no longer than 15 minutes. Priority will be given to new works and works in progress.
All choreographers will receive a 45 minute technical rehearsal prior to their performance.
Selected resident choreographers must sell 15 tickets to the performances. Choreographers selected for the produced performances are required to sell 10 tickets each.
Resident choreographers receive 30 hours of studio time for rehearsals and are required to do one work-in-progress showing prior to the performance for feedback from the curator, Nimbus artistic staff, and invited audience.
(Note about space use for resident choreographers: studio times are primarily available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings with some additional weeknight availability.)

The Kennedy Dancers Seeks Dance Companies to Share a Winter Holiday Split Bill in Fair Lawn, NJ
The Kennedy Dancers Repertory Company is looking for prominent dance companies to share a Winter Holiday split bill performance in Fair Lawn, New Jersey on Friday, November 3, 2017. Dance companies must have been established for 2 years+. The choreography should be in keeping with the Winter Holiday theme and should be between 15 and 20 minutes long. Those interested may send a letter of inquiry to: Kennedydancers@aol.com with the Subject: Winter Holiday Performance. Please provide video links to your intended dance submission. Rental rates will be shared and box office sales will be dispersed accordingly upon discussion.
Applications are now open for Liberty Hall Dance Festival
Buggé Ballet and Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University join forces for the premier Liberty Hall Dance Festival on Saturday, September 16th from 1-4pm.
Liberty Hall Dance Festival welcomes historically inspired performances in any genre of dance. Each piece will be performed twice at one of nine site specific performance locations across the beautiful museum grounds. Choreographers are invited to submit one piece, up to 10 minutes, for consideration. Both professional dance companies and pre-professional dance programs are welcome to apply. Additionally, choreographers and/or performers have the opportunity to teach a 30 minute movement lesson relating to dance in the late 18th to 20th centuries.
All accepted pieces, choreographers and performers, will be required to attend the performance on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 1-4pm and be available on the rain date of Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 1-4pm. Tech rehearsal will be during the morning of the performance. The Liberty Hall Museum in Union, New Jersey is easily accessible from NYC, just three train stops away.
A non-refundable application fee of $12 is due at the time of applying. All applications are due by Thursday, June 22 at midnight.
