Guest Artist Opportunity in Ocean County

For the 2017-2018 school year, the Dance Department at the OCVTS Performing Arts Academy, located in Lakehurst, New Jersey, is focusing on exploring Latin America and Caribbean dance and dance artists in the 21st century. We are looking for a dance artist whose technique is inspired by and/or references Latin American or Caribbean culture within a specific genre of dance. We are searching for Four Local Guest Artists between October 2017 to April 2018 to educate our high school dance majors on defining the Latin American and Caribbean dance artist in the 21st century. The position would entail teaching the technique, the history of the style and the artistry\expression of the style, which would culminate in a dance piece. The choreography should incorporate the specific technique and vocabulary along with the guest artist’s personal choreographic choices to be performed in our Annual Spring Dance Concert, which is Friday, May 4th, 2017 at 7pm. The Dance Department is in need of Guest Artists who are dance educators capable of providing the students with an educational experience.
